Clicker Mobile App

Mobile app doesn't find my computer

There are several reasons why the application cannot find your computer automatically.

  1. Clicker Desktop is not running on your computer.

Run the app on your computer and wait a couple of seconds.

  2. Your computer and your phone are connected to different WiFi networks.

Make sure your computer and your phone are connected to the same WiFi network.

NOTE. Many Android phones come with built-in Hotspot available which can be used to connect your computer with your phone in places where there are no WiFi networks.

  3. Your computer has firewall active, which blocks incoming connections.

Please check your firewall settings and make sure the port 17381 is open and the Clicker Desktop application is allowed through firewall. For more information, check How To Run Guide for your operating system.

I experience input lags during my presentation?

Clicker app uses lightweight protocol to make the delays as small as possible. Unfortunatelly, it's not always about the app, but also about the quality of your WiFi connection.

When connecting your computer and phone through router, there are several reasons you might face delays:

  1. There are many routers around you and the network channels overlap and create noise in the signal.

  2. There are many clients connected to the router you are connected to, and so a lot of network traffic is getting generated. It slows down delivery of packages between your phone and your computer.

  3. Your device is located far from the router and the signal strength is low.

General recommendation for you would be to switch to Mobile Hotspot. It is available in practically every modern Android phone and let's you create your own personal WiFi network.

How can I control videos in my presentation?

Unfortunately, none of the presentation software provides a communication interface to control media. To overcome this limitation, we integration mouse support into Clicker.

Remote Trackpad works just like any trackpad in modern laptops. You control the mouse by moving your finger over the trackpad area. To perform click, just tap anywhere on the trackpad area.

NOTE. Mouse support (Remote Trackpad) is the feature of Clicker Pro.

How to use S Pen with Clicker?

NOTE. S Pen 2018 or newer is required (with bluetooth support) and S Pen supported Samsung device.

NOTE. S Pen support is the feature of Clicker Pro.

If you're a owner of S Pen and compatible Samsung device, you should be able to use S Pen with Clicker to switch slides in your presentation.

The first thing you need to do is to allow Clicker to receive S Pen events. You can do so by going to Settings -> Advanced Features -> S Pen -> S Pen Remote and there you should click on Enable Clicker switch.

NOTE. Steps described above are for Note 9. Your phone settings might be structured in slightly different way.

My Clicker Pro purchase got lost

This issue might happen in two cases:

  1. You installed the app not from Play Store.

  2. You have multiple Google accounts on your device, and you installed the app from the wrong account.

In order to fix the issue, follow these steps:

  1. Uninstall Clicker from your device.

  2. Open Google Play and switch to the account used to make the purchase.

  3. Download Clicker through Play Store.

  4. Open Clicker, your purchase should be automatically restored.

Clicker Desktop App

Can I use Clicker Desktop with my own Java Virtual Machine?

Yes, it is possible, but not recommended. Clicker Desktop app is developed using Java 8, which means it should work with Java Runtime 8 or newer. You should also match the architecture of your Java Runtime with the Clicker binaries. So for 32-bit Java runtime you should use 32-bit clicker binaries (even on 64-bit operating system).

We've made decision to distribute the minimized version of Java Virtual Machine within the app to simplify the setup process for our users.

Which version should I download 32-bit or 64-bit?

Only 64-bit version is supported for Mac OS and Linux users.

For Windows users, please check the How to run guide.
